A New World Power
Although it is generly accepted that America became a world power after World War 2, World War 1 got the ball rolling. By 1890, the United States had by far the world's most productive economy . But the United States was not a great military or diplomatic power (S. Mintz). After World War 1 ended the goverment had expanded and the number of millitary men increased. This helped America to be prepared for World War 2, which made America a world power.
